FOXO4-DRI Description

FOXO4-DRI is an experimental peptide that has been investigated for its ability to selectively target senescent cells—cells that have stopped dividing but remain metabolically active. Research has focused on the interaction between FOXO4 and p53, a pathway involved in the survival of senescent cells. Disrupting this interaction has been studied as a method of promoting apoptosis in certain senescent cell populations.

Current FOXO4-DRI research remains primarily preclinical, with studies examining its effects in cellular and animal models of aging, fibrosis, cancer biology, and tissue regeneration.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Research

Researchers have also examined FOXO4-DRI in experimental models of pulmonary fibrosis, a condition characterized by abnormal accumulation of fibrotic tissue within the lungs.

In preclinical studies, FOXO4-DRI was associated with reductions in senescent cell populations and decreased expression of factors associated with the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). Researchers also observed changes in fibrosis-related tissue morphology and collagen deposition.
